Breastfeeding in public, The epic "Food fight"
I'm not trying to start a war but honestly its 2019 can we stop being uncomfortable with mamas feeding their babies in public?
Today I went out with my family and we walked around the mall then went to pizza hut for dinner upon Wyatt && Aaron's request. While we were eating Aaron handed me the baby because he was hungry, then brought Wyatt to go use the restroom. Now our waitress had been very "friendly" toward my husband the entire night (its fine to a point, I've been there I know that's how people make tips) But as I was sitting there for about 10 minutes feeding my son, This waitress walked by me about 8 times. I tried to get her attention multiple times to get my drink refilled && I was ignored EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.
My husband returns with Wyatt sits down at the table && then asks if I need another drink, so I hand him my cup && who do you think comes over? Correct the Waitress who has been flirting with my husband (Meanwhile my husband is completely oblivious, I had to tell him what was happening when we left) && gets my husband another drink.
"You're kidding me right?!?!"
Now I understand people being uncomfortable with seeing the back of my child's head on my chest but there is no reason not to do your job... Let's stop punishing moms for doing their damn job. It's difficult as hell already, I'm going to hit you with some facts. I've been craving an alcoholic beverage for a little over 9 months && guess what I still have to wait. Also Breastfeeding burns up to 500-600 EXTRA calories a day, So not only am I working hard for my baby but I'm hungry. Another fun fact Breast milk is a living substance that contains live cells, including stem cells which will go on to continue to grow into other body cell types like brain, heart, kidney or bone tissue for my baby, meaning I am literally giving up part of my body to help my child grow to the best he can be. So next time you get "Offended" by my nipple being in my child's mouth while we are out think about how uncomfortable I am && get me my damn soda. (Not sorry for the rant, I could have gone on longer)
I didn't let this ruin my night with my boys though, I had a great time && Wyatt had me laughing the entire time.
